When my pal came to visit, my DH helped us. He let us play in the studio while he cooked meals for us. So I wanted to let him know how much I appreciated him. I made him this felted ATC. He said he liked it. Hope so!
I've wanted to get back into colored pencil painting, but for some reason I just haven't started. So this last week I thought I could at least do a couple little ATCs. The size is small so it's not so threatening. I really had fun & am remembering all the techniques I used to use. So here's the two I did this week:
They're just copies of things I've seen in magazines, but it's just practice so I don't get so stressed. I did these on mat board. Allows for alot of layers! Anyway, hope you all have a great week!
So for my swap this week, I made some totem animal ATCs. Gave a couple to my pal, & kept the rest. It's always is nice to have some extra hanging around.
Here's a couple close ups...recycled catalog images, stamped images, feathers, artificial sinew, some turquoise nuggets, etc. Ended up with 11 total...until she got her 2! I'll have to check to see which ones she chose! :)
One of my bestest pals had a birthday...and she just started doing "The Artist's Way"...so I decided to make an ATC for her. I chose this fabric because it reminds me of how we feel about each other! In fact, we gave ourselves names that embrace this idea! She chose di Gioia as our last name because it's of Joy! And we chose Italian foods for our first names. So I am now CC Spaghetti di Gioia, and she is Canolli di Gioia! Perfecto!!! Ti amo, pal!
My pal & I continue to swap twice a month...and I forgot to post this one! It was the one before the mini tag book. Ah, well. Just some cute fabric fused onto interfacing, beaded, embellished, backed & buttonhole stitched all around. Makes for nice little ATCs. Actually got the idea from another pal who is a fabric artist. So many fun things to do in this world!
We kept up our swaps until the holidays overwhelmed us! Here's the 4 ATCs (Artist Trading Cards for those who don't know) I made for our bi-monthly exchange. Not sure if you can see in the first picture, but at the top left is another ATC I worked on using some black stock my pal gave me. I like how it looked with the colored pencils.
But I also liked my little watercolor snowpeople! They are all unique just like we are! And yes, the mountains on 2 islands in Hawaii do get snow! Haven't ever seen a real snowperson here yet tho'! However, there are ALOT of inflatable ones!
