Not sure if it shows my limited palette & size of beads, but I'm learning to make do!!! After all, this is just my "feeling" of emerging from a cocoon into the new year, so it doesn't have to be realistic!

Hopefully I'll be done with January soon so I can finish February before it's over. That is one benefit of not feeling well! I have a wonderful, relaxing project to do while I'm getting well on the couch! :)

I'm glad you're not too ill to bead... wouldn't that be awful?!
I think you're doing VERY well with the shading, CC, even with your limited selection of beads!
One trick I've learned is that you can achieve the appearance of shading by mixing two colors together. For example if you have blue and green, but you want blue-green (a third color), you can fool the eye by intermingling the two colors. Hope that's more clear than I think.

Thanks for the hint on fooling the eye with beads. I'd learned that in art school with paints, but never had to really practice with it. So next time I need a different color, I'll have to try it out! Thanks also for starting this project! I'm amazed at how much I've done & learned since June! Wow!
