So, I switched over to size 0 to finish the project below.
I don't have time to go into such depth on this one as I'm behind on projects, so I'll just give a quick summary of the meaning behind this one. The Star Rune represents the realization of a dream or wish. It speaks of hope, a prize, a huge achievement as well as the presence of higher guides, spirituality, angels & the immediate future. It's a promise of fortunate developments in your life. It also speaks of financial and material gains, assets, prosperous ventures, wishes granted, etc. So I guess we all should be wishing on those stars out there! :)
OH, and the birthstone for January was garnet, so the background was done with the beads that I had that were closest in color! I chose a complementary color for the symbol. I'm really trying to use just the beads I have set aside for this project!
Again, all info adapted from "A Witch's Runes" by, Susan Sheppard.

Hi CC - you've been busy! Happy Anniversary to you too! I am really enjoying your runes and I learn something new each time. January is special to me cuz my son was born this month 13 years ago, so I like the color garnet and the meaning. Love your cards and can't wait to see your secret project. How lucky your friend is to have you to teach her and then present her with wings! Wow! Have a good month - Heidibeads
I like your rune CC! interesting stuff you post each month on them... will be interested to see what you do with the whole year together....!
A great rune for the beginning of a new year. Lovely work. You inspire me to try some off-loom beading.

Lol, you sound like me! Now that I am done with November (yeah, I am really behind) I get to go blog hopping.
Using the complementary color works out great. I used a touch of it in my November piece just to keep a little excitement going. As far as thread size goes, well I could grab the right size if I remembered to write down the size used previously but I always forget and have to be reminded the hard way.
Great colors and a beautiful Star, CC!!! I hear that you feel "pressed," but when you have an extra moment, will you take a picture of all of your runes so far, together? I'd love to see that! There is such power and beauty in their simplicity... Robin A.
I've learned the hard way, too, about size of thread and square stitch. Sometimes it helps to go up a size in needles to make it work.
I've really enjoyed catching up on your blog. Your drawing is wonderful! And happy belated anniversary, with wishes for many more.
Susan
Thanks all for the comments & wishes! I do have the whole concept figured out for the year. I'll try to post a pic soon of where I'm at so far next to the sketch of where I'm going! :) (Hope that makes sense!)
And it sure was fun catching up on everyone's work! Wow!
Warmest aloha,
CC
Enjoy looking at your work. Can't wait to see what's next.
